Community. The formal definition is: a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common; a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.
As 2022 draws to a close, we want to take the opportunity to talk about three key communities that we are thankful to serve. First, our employees and our local community where we work, live and play. Texas Counter Fitters (TCF) was born from entrepreneurs who both have worked in a variety of roles across the natural stone business. From sales to fabrication, our founders, Chris Blackburn and Andrew Gilbert, have more than three decades of combined expertise. As owners, they pay the utmost attention to their team, ensuring TCF associates truly feel well taken care of and empowered. This starts with benefit plans that provide health insurance at no extra cost. Andrew and Chris strongly believe in the power of relationships and good health – and that includes encouraging the team to take care of themselves and their families.
With employees in Garland, Texas (the fabrication shop) and Richardson, Texas (the headquarters and expansive stone campus), TCF also works to find ways to support the local communities where the company operates. This includes Andrew’s role as an active member in the local Garland Chamber of Commerce, as well as both co-founders regularly identifying ways to be involved. Frequently, this means supporting local charities that are near and dear to the hearts of their team. TCF has served as a gold sponsor at various North Texas events, such as End Alzheimer’s walk; breast cancer awareness and treatment donations. Additionally, Andrew, Chris and their team have worked with local nonprofits such as Home for Hope to help economically struggling families with donated stone products, as well as Operation Christmas Child to bring gifts to children in need and pet rescues such as Dallas Pets Alive, who needed countertops for their first store front charity in DFW.
TCF is thankful to take a family approach to supporting both the team and the local community.
