Visit our Richardson, Texas showroom for an extensive selection of high-quality quartzite slabs perfect for kitchens, bathrooms and other design-driven spaces.
Quartzite offers the perfect balance of strength and natural elegance, making it a standout choice for any design-focused space. Formed under intense heat and pressure, this durable stone resists scratches, heat, and everyday wear — ideal for high-traffic areas like kitchens and bathrooms. Its marble-like veining and exquisite color variations add sophistication to any surface.
Celebrated for its durability and striking, marble-like appearance, quartzite is a natural stone that ranks high on the Mohs hardness scale (typically around 7) making it exceptionally resistant to scratches and everyday wear. It is commonly offered in two slab thicknesses: 2 centimeters (¾ inch) and 3 centimeters (1¼ inch).
Quartzite is quarried worldwide, with significant deposits found in Brazil, the United States, India and parts of Africa. Unlike quartz, which is engineered, quartzite is a metamorphic rock formed from sandstone that has been subjected to intense heat and pressure over time. This natural process fuses the quartz grains together, creating a dense, durable surface with unique, flowing patterns and subtle color variations. Finishes include polished for a glossy, light-reflective look; honed for a smooth, matte surface; and leathered for a softly textured, more natural feel.
